Father's Day

Well, Nick missed his first Father's Day as a Father of two. He will be 2 days late almost to the minute. But better late than never. Kayla and I made this cake for him and had a Sushi lunch.

Life is quite dull around here lately. I will blog once I have something in my brain to talk about.

Merry Christmas!

To all my dearest blogger friends,

Please Have A Merry Christmas.

Tomorrow is Christmas Eve for us so I may not blog for a couple days.

Some updates here:

*We are 7 days BINKY free! The only sign left of baby hood are diapers. Our girl is growing up too fast.

*We are still undecided on name. We cant seem to agree. The names I like, Nick doesnt and vice versa. Nathan seems to be the only one we can both agree on, although we don't love it.

*Talked to birth mom this morning, she is doing well although she says this pregnancy is the worst of the 3. She is very uncomfortable.

*Sent birth father a message today letting him know of the adoption plans. We shall see what he says back. Keep your fingers crossed he doesn't cause trouble.

*Kayla can now count from 1-13 all by herself.

*Kayla is now starting 4 word sentences.

*In a few days, she will be 17 months old. I don't know where the time has gone.

Here is a picture of Kayla 1 year ago today, 23 Dec 2008 and a picture of her on Christmas day 1 year ago, 2008.

A special Christmas Package

Yesterday Kayla got a very special Christmas package. I am so thankful she has a Birth Father that loves her the way she deserves to be loved. I'm hoping this will help her with that fact that she is adopted easier on her in the future. She is one lucky girl. And I am an even luckier Mama.

Other news, we think we have a name for baby brother. Im going to sleep on it a few nights and make sure we are sure. But Im pretty sure we are sure. Its the ONLY name we both said we really like. And funny thing is, my sister thought of it! For school her and her boyfriend had to take care of a baby doll for 4 days and it's the name they gave their baby doll! hehe!

Ok, onto the good stuff. Pictures....

Got the pictures to upload!

First of all....everyone...please send positive thoughts to whoever you believe in....that Birth Mom's unborn baby (due in Feb) ends up in the hands of who is meant to be with him, care for him and love him. Let this baby end up where the big man wants him.

Here are the pictures I was trying to upload the other day and couldnt get to work.

Happy Mother's Day

Photobucket

My friend Tammy said it perfectly...

To those who are blessed to have children on earth, to those blessed to have angels in heaven and to those who are mothers in their hearts and just waiting for their miracle.

Last night I went to my friend's house to hang out. I bought her a Mother's Day gift for all that she has done and will do for me and Kayla while Nick is away. She will drop anything she's doing to help me. She lets Kayla and I eat dinner with her family at least once a week, sometimes more.

And her and Nick have been communicating without my knowledge. I went to her house last night and there on her kitchen counter sat a gift from Nick, found by her. A single red rose, a small teddy bear and a card written by her but in Nick's words.

It was funny to read what was clearly Nick's words, but in B's handwriting.

He's so far away, but manages to give me a Mother's Day.

And this isn't the first time he has done this type of thing.

In 2004 when he was deployed he had a very good friend deliver flowers to me at work for our Anniversary.

I clearly have the best husband a husband can be.

Easter pictures and details

Really there isn't a whole lot of Easter details to tell all about. I had a rough time with it. I missed Nick a lot. We woke up Easter morning and I layed Kayla down on the living room floor on her pillow and changed her diaper and gave her a bottle and I let her discover her Easter basket on her own. It took her a while to dig through it because each item she picked up she spent time playing with. I had a fun just sitting there watching her.

We hung out all morning and I made green bean casserole to take over to a friend's house for Easter lunch/dinner. There we ate, ate some more, watched a movie, ate candy, played outside, ate candy and then we came home.

The past couple of days I have been very tired. So tired beyond words and so emotional. But now 2 days after Easter I do feel better. I think the 12 hours of sleep last night help. Thank you baby girl. Mama really really needed that.

Here are 2 slide shoes of pictures. The first one is from Easter day and the 2nd one is from Easter Monday...Kayla and I got packages from my Mother in Law. They came at the right time. I just got done crying because I was so tired and Kayla did not want to take a nap. I decided to get up and see what the mail man left us, and I found the packages at my front door. They were just what I needed at that moment.

Easter Eve

Well, It's the night before Easter. Kayla has had her dinner...or as much as shes going to eat anyway, she has had her bath and now she is emptying out her toy basket. Soon will be bed time and soon I will get out her very first Basket, arrange all the items I, I mean Easter Bunny, as gotten her and sit in on the living room floor. And in the morning I will bring her out to the living room and go on as normal. Lay her down on the pillow on the floor, giver a bottle, and change her diaper...and we shall see how long it takes her to realize there are goodies she can dig into. And you bet, I will have pictures to share.

In the meantime....PLEASE remind me that I am an AIR FORCE wife. NOT an ARMY wife. When I look at these pictures they tell me different. I see my AIR FORCE husband wearing ARMY patches on his uniform and wearing ARMY weapons and ARMY body amour while doing an ARMY job. Where did I sign up for that position as a wife? Oh yeah...when I said, "For better or worse." He is lucky that I love him enough to put up with him.

Here he is in front of his wheels.

Here he is in his wheels.

Here he is in his wheels again. No, that is not beer or apple juice in that bottle. Lets just say when he is out on a convoy job off base he cannot leave his wheels. Not even to use the bathroom.

Here are the local people watching them go by in convoy.

Here he is with his 'partner in crime.'

His wheels again.

Boy oh Boy, some days I cant get over just how very lucky I am. Today is one of those days. I have a real live GI JOE husband and the most beautiful daughter anyone could ever ask for.

I guess this would be the proper time of year to really be Thankful for all that God and his son have given me.

Happy St. Patrick's Day! (lots-o-pictures)

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone.

It turns out that there was a reason I wasn't getting much sleep the last couple of night. I feel terrible about it now. Kayla has a tooth. I noticed it yesterday and I feel so totally terrible for letting be in such pain at night without giving her any medicine. My poor girl. I should have known something was wrong when she cried because she never cries. Seriously, she just doesn't cry. I guess the good thing is now I know when she acts this way it's because she is hurting. I feel so terrible.
Last night was a success. She went to bed at 7:30. I gave her teething tablets and Motrin and I took some Benedryl and went to bed at 8. I didn't hear a peep from her until 11:30. She was up a few times but I just pat her butt to sleep. She woke at 6 am but I wasn't ready so I took her to bed with me until 7 am. I feel a million times better.

Yesterday I got to chat with Nick through email for a few minutes. I didn't a whole lot of info from him since he was busy asking about us. But that is ok with me. I did get this from him:
I am getting over my cold. I am so glad. My voice is coming back. We only have 2 more days outside, then we are indoors for the majority of the rest of the days. I cant wait to move on from here. The leadership is so gungho and hardcore. They dont let us relax at all. They march us everywhere and make us sing jodies when marching. Its like basic training. I will be glad once this deployment is done and I am home in your arms.
We have been wearing our vests for 12 hours a day. My back is killing me.

Also, Thank you Grammy for sending Kayla and I such nice care packages. It means more to us than you know.

Happy Valentine's Day my wonderful friends and family. How was your day spent?

Cupid brought Kayla a small teddy bear wearing pink ducky pajamas, 2 hair bows and some teething tablets. He brought Nick a photo album to take with him on his deployment. The pictures haven't arrived yet so those will come later, and 2 cadbury creme eggs, and a box of chocolates. He brought me a pretty small basket with 2 homemade soaps and a box of rose soap petals.
Then Nick took us to Jeff's Pirate Cove for lunch. He had a cheeseburger and fries, I had a BBQ plate- the local dish on island which consists of steamed rice, bbq chicken and bbq ribs with a small side salad. Kayla had a french fry, some gerber banana puffs and a bottle.

Pictures to come soon.

Only one weekend left as a family of 3 until the end of 2009.
*sigh*
He's starting to pack his bags as I type this.

Please say a prayer for Emilie's family, plus slideshow of pictures

"Lemmondrops" Emilie passed away last night. Please say a prayer for her family or even sent them a comment to let them know your thoughts are with them. This is not what I wanted to read this morning, on Christmas Day.

You can visit them here:
http://lemmondrops.blogspot.com/

Some brighter news...Christmas was fantastic. We got to see my parents in law over the webcam. They got to watch Kayla open her gifts and we got to watch them open their gifts. I must admit, I miss them so much and wish more and more everyday they could look this baby girl in her eyes and fall more in love just like we do.

Hoping we get to see them soon!
Enjoy our slideshow. We took more pictures then I cant count, but here are some favorites.

While Im waiting to go to bed here in a few, I wasted some time and took this quiz.

Family picture

Here is a picture of us last night at the sitter's house before our Christmas party. All turned out a thousand times better than I was imagining to happen. I will give details later. Right now, I have to get us ready for a beach cook out at 11 am.
